If you are going to receive goods - read this!

The majority of freight services do not include carrying assistance. This means that the driver will come with the necessary equipment to get your goods off the truck or van to the property line. Carrying assistance into, for example, stairs, an elevator or to another location at the address is usually not included in the service. If carrying assistance is needed, it is always a good idea to plan and solve it yourself.
For example, if you are in a basement or similar location, it may be difficult for the driver to discover where the goods are to be delivered. Make sure there are clear signs and instructions in place when the driver arrives.
There are two options for the recipient to be contacted when delivering to companies: Notification and Delivery Notification. Notification means that the carrier books a time and day for delivery together with the recipient. Delivery Notification means that the driver calls approx. 30 minutes before the delivery is due to take place. These options are booked by the freight orderer.
The sender who booked the shipment determines which service will be provided. Shipping services may vary between shipping companies and the person booking the shipment. If you are unsure, contact the sender or shipping agent who should be able to easily confirm what kind of delivery you can expect.
Start by checking the outer packaging. If you discover damage to the outer packaging, start by writing down the word "damage" when you sign for the goods.
