Correct packaging for a smooth delivery
Your parcel will undergo handling by both individuals and machinery, being transported in vehicles, trucks, and through sorting systems alongside other items that might be sizeable, weighty, and unwieldy. It falls upon you to pack the contents in a manner that ensures their safe passage from the sender to the recipient. This responsibility becomes even more critical when the contents are delicate, demanding careful protection.
Preparations for international freight
Sending within Sweden and worldwide is simple. Just remember that if you plan to send to countries outside the EU, you need to be aware of the specific rules and regulations applicable to that country. We can certainly provide advice and guide you on where to find relevant information.
Is a customs invoice required?
If you are sending a package to a country outside the European Union, such as Schweiz or Serbia, you need to prepare a commercial invoice or proforma so that customs can approve your shipment.
The EORI number is necessary
To send to countries outside the EU, you must provide an EORI number, which is your unique registration number in the commercial invoice. Companies importing and exporting outside the EU apply for an EORI number through the customs authorities.
P.O. Box addresses cannot be used as a delivery address
If you provide a P.O. Box or post box address as the delivery address, the carrier will not be able to deliver your shipment. Specify the correct delivery address from the beginning to avoid additional costs that may arise if the shipping company needs to make changes.
Forbidden and prohibited items
Not everything is allowed to be shipped, such as hazardous materials, chemicals, and securities. To protect those handling your goods and prevent damage to other shipments, it is crucial to be aware of what can and cannot be sent. Double-check this carefully before sending your package to ensure it complies with the applicable rules and regulations.
