Most shipping services do not include carrying assistance. This means that the driver brings the necessary tools to unload your goods from the truck or van at the plot boundary. Help with transporting the goods into stairs, elevators or to other places at your address is usually not included. If carrying help is needed, it is a good idea to prepare and arrange this on your own.
If your location, such as a basement location, is difficult to find, it can be challenging for the driver. Make sure there are clear signs and instructions when the driver arrives.
There are two options for being contacted when delivering to companies: Notification and Delivery Notice. Notification means that the carrier and recipient jointly book a time and day for delivery. Delivery notification means that the driver calls approximately 30 minutes before the delivery. These options are booked by the person who ordered the shipping.

If in doubt, contact the sender or whoever booked the shipment, who should be able to confirm the type of delivery you can expect.
Before you sign for the goods, start by inspecting the outer packaging. If you find damage to the outer packaging, note the word "damage" when you sign.
Document with pictures and any film from the outer packaging to the contents. Save the packaging until the complaint case has been completed. If you discover damage to the contents, contact the company from which you ordered the goods. It is the freight orderer who must inform the freight company of what has happened.
