One-way pallet

A one-way pallet is intended for one or a small number of trips. Dimensions and construction vary. Learn what to check before booking pallet freight.

What is a one-way pallet?

A one-way pallet is a load carrier intended for one or a small number of trips rather than repeated use in a pallet exchange system. It is used, for example, for deliveries where the pallet stays with the goods at the receiving business.

One-way pallet dimensions and construction

One-way pallets do not have a single standard size. They come in different sizes, including formats such as 1,200 × 800 mm and 800 × 600 mm, and can be tailored to the goods. Materials, construction, pallet weight and load capacity vary. Check the specifications of the pallet you are using. Read more about pallet dimensions and measurement.

One-way pallet or Euro pallet – what is the difference?

A standardised EUR pallet meets requirements for dimensions, construction, quality and markings. A one-way pallet does not necessarily meet the same standard, even if its footprint is identical.

The name does not automatically mean that the pallet must be discarded after one use. Further use depends on its condition and whether it is suitable for the next load and handling process.

What should you check before transport?

Check that the pallet is intact and suitable for the weight of the goods and how they will be handled. When booking, enter the shipment’s total length, width and height, including the pallet, goods and packaging, and its total weight. See how to pack and secure a pallet.
